PIXIE CLUTCH

This clutch is sooo cute!!!

I'm done making it this afternoon and it turned out really adorable.This is a lot bigger than the wristlet on my shop.More room for your personal stuff.

Size of clutch :

Length : 10 1/2 inches (widest part on the bottom)

Width : 4 inches

Height : 8 inches

Keykalou blogged about this (http://keyka.typepad.com/my_weblog/pixie-handbag/ ).She thought of making a clutch out of her Pixie Bag pattern.I read the post yesterday and have thought of making it today and I'm really happy with the result.

I'm patiently waiting for my new fabrics to arrive so that I can start making this clutch but I still have 2 or 3 designs here that's still need to be done.

This particular clutch design will be available on my shop probably on Friday the latest.

My Passion....BAKING!!!

I started baking when I was 18 years old.When I was still very young I really do enjoy watching cooking/baking shows on tv with my 2 other sister.I think the very first recipe that my sisters and I tried was I think an ice cream like recipe that has cream, chocolate, sugar, eggyolks.

Back then I used to try a lot of recipes that I have watched on tv.My mother, and my 2 sisters are my "guinea pigs". They will tell me the truth, if they liked the taste or not.

I only had my formal schooling on baking back in 1999.I took up a 1 month Commercial Baking Course in Phillipine Women's University (PWU) in Manila, Philippines. I had so much fun on this class.I learned a lot of techniques on baking specially on bread making.They thought us how to bake pandesal (Filipino version of dinner roll), baguette, classic white bread, cinnamon rolls, danish pastries, ensaymada (brioche), and different cakes.

I want to take up Culinary Course but we can't afford it.It is too expensive and in the Philippines, our government don't give assistance like a student loan that you can get not like here in the US.My husband once asked me that if I still want to study culinary I can call up a school and inquire about it (and beside there's a lot of good culinary schools here in Vegas)but I'm sure it is much expensive here.My husband and I just moved here in the US from the Philippines March of 2007 so we're still paying A LOT of BILLS so I said no, not this time...but I'm still considering...in the future maybe.

I found a good opportunity to develop,improve, and expand my baking skills when one hotel in Makati Philippines hired me as their Pastry Cook after finishing my on-the-job training hours on their hotel.I've worked on that hotel for I think 1 year and 4 months.

Being busy sewing bags, thinking of new ideas and products to sell/make for my etsy shop I thought of baking last Sunday and besides it's Father's Day and my husband likes custard so I thought of baking a custard cake.

It may not be too perfect visually but I tell you this custard cake is soo yummy.Next time I will adjust the oven temperature, and maybe bake it in baine marie.I found the recipe of this yummy CUSTARD CAKE at http://www.lifepinoystyle.com/Special_Custard_cake.html

My Favorite Etsy Stores

Here are a few of my favorite things...feels like singing :)

1. POLESTAR (http://www.polestar.etsy.com/) - This store is my most favorite. I love all the jewelries that she sells on her store. All her jewelry pieces are simple and can be worn with a casual attire. A lot of times I will spend maybe an hour or two just browsing on her store. Sadly, I still haven't buy anything from her shop but definitely I will do real soon.

Actually, I was inspired by her beautiful finished item made from her patterns that's why I decided to start sewing again and open my Maya's Kalupi etsy store. I'm really glad that she decided to change her shop policies and allows selling the items made from her pattern. If you're a beginner, her patterns are right for you to start with.

I'm sure it will look cute on my daughter's feet also :)

I have not receive the replacement yet but really excited to see it. A lot of pretty jewelries and you'll love the vintage look of some pieces on this shop.Will definitely recommend this shop.

5.TRENDY KNITTING (http://www.trendyknitting.etsy.com/) - This shop has crochet shrugs, scarves, and shawls in pretty colors. You must check this shop. Items on this shop looks very comfortable to wear specially on winter.

6. CITE FUZZ (http://www.citefuzz.etsy.com/) - Cuteness!!! This shop sells crochet caps & hats for toddlers, kids, & adults. Their mini monkey flap hat for toddler/kids are soo cute. It will surely look great if you have a baby boy/girl. I want to buy one for my baby girl if we live somewhere cold but we live in Nevada and the weather now is close to a hundred...really hot and it's not even summer yet.

My First Blog Post

Hi to everyone!

I have decided to create a blog for my etsy store and for some etsians to see who's who behind this shop.

I'll be posting my new creations here, little bit about my family, or anything I feel like sharing.I will be doing my best to update this blog, maybe posting once or twice in a week.

Though, I still need to familiarize myself on some things associated in blogging...I'll get by...for sure.
